A cup can hold more than you think: memories of Mom, for example. My mother was the collecting diva. Milk Glass, Depression glass, thimbles, spoons, Cottageware, fabric – I could go on and on. The glass is the thing, though. Glass was her favorite. We used to go to house sales together, and before I knew better, I turned down many of her offers to buy glassware for me. I’m sorry I didn’t pay more attention back then, but I did grow to appreciate her love of certain glassware. And, while I am working on paring down, I can’t seem to pass up a deal on glass if I love the piece. The Fire King lusterware teacup pictured here is a good example -- 5 bucks for a set of eight. Isn’t it just gorgeous? I couldn’t resist popping my springtime bunny-in-basket into the cup for a special welcome. When you enter my front porch, you’ll find him lazily wasting the day away. I think Mom would approve.
